Meet Pastor Jon & Cheryl Palmquist

Jon Palmquist has been the pastor at West Side Baptist for the past 20 years. A native of Iowa (and an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan) he graduated High School from Glenwood, Iowa before attending Nebraska Christian College in Norfolk, Nebraska. He later earned a Master’s degree from Kentucky Christian College.

Jon is assisted in the ministry of the church by his wife Cheryl. Cheryl grew up on a farm outside of Wymore, graduating from Southern High School. She also operated an in-home licensed day care for 34 years. Cheryl also creates and manages the audio/visual presentations at the worship services. Together they have 5 children, and they are very involved in the activities of their 11 grandchildren.

They desire to love God and serve His people to the best of their abilities.

Jon’s ultimate goal has long been to go to Heaven when he dies, and to try to take as many people with him as he can.
